Design a book which tells the story and documents the significance of an individual who has made a significant contribution to culture.

I decided to make the subject of this project Pat McGrath since I am a makeup fan and she has made great strides for the industry. I first created this project for a class in 2019, but revamped the spread in early 2023. While I was reworking this project in 2023, Pat McGrath Labs was releasing a makeup collaboration with the Star Wars franchise; which contributed to the inspiration behind my typography for this edition of the spread. Pat McGrath is known for her unique and eye-catching makeup looks, so I wanted the typography to have the same effect. I used bold and capitalized type to help with this.

There is a plethora of high quality photos of Pat’s makeup looks over the years. I wanted to utilize these photos to show how much of a talent she truly is and not have any other distractions on the page. For this reason, I kept a pretty consistent layout for my spreads in order to not distract the reader from the photos.
